Frequently asked questions.

What is a consultation?

A consultation is a short 15-minute meeting in person or over the phone. This is an opportunity to meet me, ask any questions you have, and get a sense of whether I feel like the right therapist for you.

Do you take insurance?

I take Blue Cross, SelectHealth, Mountain Health Co-op, PacificSource, and St. Luke’s Health Partner Plans. I don’t currently bill other insurances directly. You may seek reimbursement from your insurance provider for an out-of-network visit. You will be expected to pay for your sessions upfront and I will provide you with a superbill(receipt) at the end of the month to submit to your provider. I recommend checking with your insurance provider about out-of-network reimbursement to understand your policy and what is covered.

What is an intake session?

An intake session is the initial session of therapy. This session looks different than regularly scheduled therapy sessions. The intake is scheduled for around 60 minutes and includes:

  • Review of informed consent and policies

  • History taking, gathering information about the client’s current and past experiences

  • Goal planning, understanding what the client would like to accomplish in therapy

Do you offer a Sliding Scale?

I am willing to work with clients to find a rate that is affordable to them. I don’t offer a specific income-based sliding scale.
